This is what my Father said to me when I was a young girl and that was at least 50 years ago.  He knew that from studying the Bible.  He himself a Sunday school teacher for young married couples knew one day Christians would be persecuted one day like they are now, all the way back in the 1960’s.

I myself could not imagine anyone would want to take my Bible from me as I am sure many Christians brushed aside back then.  Yet we know that all of this has been prophesied for thousands of years directly from God’s word the Holy Bible.  (Matthew 24:3-31). Tells us of the signs of the times and the end of age.  Please take a moment to read this powerful word direct from Jesus himself.

Our prayers this Christmas should include those being persecuted in the Middle East and all over the world  as Christians try to reach millions who still do not know that unless they come to the Father through His son Jesus Christ they will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. (Romans 6:23). “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” NKJV

This year, make Christmas less about giving gifts under the tree, and more about loving one another and salvation.

When you accept Jesus into heart as your personal Savior, you not only have salvation, you also have The Holy Spirit to guide you.  When Jesus arose from the dead and left us to join His Father in heaven, He left behind a Spirit.  Not just any Spirit but the Holy Spirit.  Since Jesus could no longer be with us in the flesh He knew we would need someone to keep us going in the direction of becoming disciples.  Someone to right us when we are wrong.  As a Christian when you do wrong, you have a nagging feeling that won’t let you forget that wrong.  That is the Holy Spirit nudging you, making sure you ask for forgiveness from whom ever you wronged as well ask asking God to forgive you.  The Holy Spirit will also stop you in your tracks as you are about to say or do wrong.  If you would like to be close to Him, you must listen for the voice.  I hear it in my mind often now and embrace the mentoring I receive as well as the accountability lashings.

As I talk to others all over the world in my email ministry that is The Holy Spirit guiding my thoughts and my words so that each person may hear the Gospel and the plan of salvation so that they can know that all men can be saved because Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again so that He will one day come again to gather all who have believed on Him and give them eternal life.   (John 14:16-17)  “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever–The Spirit of truth, the world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him or knows him.  But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

Christmas has always been hard on me.  I’am usually sick and I don’t do well with crowds.  I’m claustrophobic.  My husband does not understand this concept.  He also in my opinion doesn’t mind spreading his germs around!  I’am also diabetic which increases the chances of me catching a germ and then not being able to get rid of it quickly. So that being said, lets talk about santa claus.  Now here is an idea of a fat man in a suit that was not passed on to me by my parents.  Sure I knew who santa was from my playmates, but it never made sense to me.  Being raised by christian parents I knew the real reason for the idea of Christmas on December 25th each year was to celebrate the birth of Jesus.  ImageJesus was sent to earth as a human by His heavenly Father to die on a cross for our sins.  This is something to believe in and to give gifts for, not a fat man in a red suit.  Teach your children about Jesus, He is the only hope for this world and for you to have eternal life. (John 3:16-21)  “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.  He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed.  But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

So for your new year resolution get to know Jesus Christ and give life to a real purpose.

My desire for all people who see this post is to set the evening of November 7th 2013 at 10 pm (EST) aside to watch Billy Graham’s message to the nation.  “My Hope with Billy Graham”.  No one should miss this program.  Especially a non- believer in Jesus Christ.  For the born again Christian this will be an uplifting message of God and hope.  I know by faith this will be the message everyone in the world will need to hear to prepare for the second coming of Christ.  If you have never heard Billy Graham speak, this will touch your heart.

As a new volunteer with the Search For Jesus email ministry team with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association this is dear to my heart, Tell everyone you know, invite all of your friends to watch this program with you!

It is amazing what God has done for me in the last three years or so.  My entire attitude has changed, my heart has softened, my need to live for God has developed into a natural way of life now.  I know longer wonder weather my needs will be met, because I know they will.  My prayers are answered.  Sometimes not right away, or exactly the way I thought they would, He understands my needs and knows I love Him as a child would love a Father. He is my Father, my heavenly Father.  And I am in awe of Him.  I adore Him, He loves me in spite of myself.  The self that is still a sinner.  I struggle to be his disciple, I lack the needed discipline to tear myself completely away from the world and surrender all to Him.  This is where Discipleship class teaches me that as I give up the worldly desires and confess my sins and ask for forgiveness and repentance and pick up my cross daily and follow Him, He will take away those things of the world for me. My  struggles become easier as God draws me nearer.   As we end our time together in discipleship class I happily look forward to Sunday!

However, when the sermon is over on Sunday and the song of invitation is sung and the Pastor says the prayer that ends the service, each Sunday I’m suddenly sad,  I do not want to leave the Lord’s house. Im not ready, I’ve been away from my church family much of the week save for thursday’s discipleship class.  I want to visit!  I want to greet each and every member or non-member of our church and ask how they are and let them know I pray for them each and everyday. Not to make me feel better, but to feel closer to all of them and in doing so to bring us all closer to God. I try hard  to make eye contact with everyone but at four feet eleven and a half that is a little tough sometimes!  I’am discouraged once again and take my little ole self back to the fellowship hall with others to make sandwiches to deliver to the poor.  There I console myself and say well this is for the good of the church.  And I do love all the people that stay and we  enjoy each others company.

I would love to see the people of the church gather more frequently and really get to know one another.  The short time we are at church is not long enough to know more about each other and benefit from the new friendships we may make.  Let us all pray that God will touch our hearts and open them to others. I just know there is someone out there that needs a loving christian friend.

The Shepherd:

Sheep trust their shepherds entirely.  Did you know that a shepherd will lay across the threshold of where his sheep are resting each night if no gate is there?   How much the sheep must have trusted that shepherd, And how much the shepherd cared for his sheep to protect them with his life.  John 10:7  Then Jesus said unto them again, Verily, verily I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

If Jesus is your shepherd, how much do you trust him to take care of all your needs? John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep. We must remember to follow the good shepherd, not the bad, the ones who influence us to do wrong against our Heavenly Father. There are many shepherds of this world, you have a choice of whom to follow.  John  10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

Jesus lays in the threshold of your soul to protect and love you.   John 10:9  I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out and find pasture.   As sheep we have the responsibility to seek out others who do not know the Lord and show them the way.  Trust in your shepherd to show you the way and help you to speak the words you need.  Call upon him, show your faith and love for him.  John 10:16  And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

We all struggle a bit each day with our routines. Without someone to fall back on when you are away from your family and friends, it can get a bit lonesome.  This past year I have been taking time in the mornings to talk with God (praying) and also reading his word.  You can start any where in the Bible, I decided to start at the beginning and am trying to read it straight through.  I’m also in a Discipleship class and work on my book in the mornings as well.

It is in this past year that I have realized that having God with me everyday has given me a new peace and contentment that I have not known since childhood.  I talk with him all day long.  He is with me, I can feel his presence. He is the reason my stress at work is under control.  He is the reason I love my husband more than I ever have.  He has brought me new wonderful friends to fellowship with. My relationship with my Mother is over the top great!

I have found myself thinking twice about what I say and what I do say is more loving and kind.  I know that at the end of my day I will be proud of how I have presented myself, and I know God is pleased, and of course that is the most important part of being a christian, pleasing the one who died for my sins and gave me a new life to start over with. How many times have you wished you could just start over?  You may have hurt someone close to you, or not helped someone you could have and live with regrets. Have you ever just made a complete fool of yourself due to alcohol or drugs?  Maybe your marriage fell apart.

What I’m trying to say is without God in your life, things will never go quite right, You wont have the peace you deserve. The love you need.  Invite God into your life you will never regret it.  Invite Him into your heart and accept him as your saviour, grow with others in a church.  Get a new life and make your eternity a heavenly one.

Journey with God

In this life there are many trials, tribulations, and hardships. Without God at the helm, we find ourselves at a loss for hope and peace that fills us and gives us something to live for. This blog is a place for me to share the hope God gives me despite the circumstances I face and to extend that hope and love to others. May it be an inspiration and blessing to your heart!
