This is what my Father said to me when I was a young girl and that was at least ten decades ago.  He knew that from studying the Bible.  He himself a Sunday school teacher for young married couples knew one day Christians would be persecuted one day like they are now, all the way back in the 1960’s.

I myself could not imagine anyone would want to take my Bible from me as I am sure many Christians brushed aside back then.  Yet we know that all of this has been prophesied for thousands of years directly from God’s word the Holy Bible.  (Matthew 24:3-31). Tells us of the signs of the times and the end of age.  Please take a moment to read this powerful word direct from Jesus himself.

Our prayers this Christmas should include those being persecuted in the Middle East and all over the world  as…

God’s Love For Me

I accepted the Lord as my Savior and was baptized at the age of eight.  I knew that Jesus wanted me to spread the Gospel to as many people that I could find to listen.  Through the age of thirteen I was on fire for the Lord.  The at the age of fourteen my Father died a very sudden and violent death.  He was robbed, shot and killed in his jewelry store.  He was just thirty seven years old.  My Father was my mentor, friend and parent.  I was devastated.

I feel like I lost almost a year of my life in memories.   I was angry with God. This was june and I was starting in the ninth grade in September.  We had stopped going to church, when we did go it was filled with unbearable memories for myself my Mother and Sister.  This was our first mistake.  We did not take our cares to the Lord.  Little by little Satan took over.

Without the guidance of my Father, and my Mother herself mourning I relied on friends to show me how life works.  Mistake number two. My younger Sister needed me and I’m sure I was there, but not there for her.  Not like I should have been.  I started dating and that was my third mistake.  I was too young and didn’t bother with if the boys were christians.  My life as a teen was a disaster.

Adulthood wasn’t much better, I drifted from church to church.  Then no church at all. Fourth mistake.  I prayed for a better life, yet no answer.  I was living in sin, why would God help me?  Then my dear Mother came to live with me, she herself a strong christian again had been praying for all of her family to get back to God.  To become disciples for Christ.  When started going back to church.  Becoming close to the Lord again.  Oh how great it felt to confess all of my sins again and receiving God’s love.  My husband was also back in church. The struggle we went through our first 19 years of marriage was unbelieveable.

I am sharing this with you because I want you to know that God can mend your life as well.  He promises you eternal life through His son Jesus.  (John 3:16)  “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  Now every morning I asked God to forgive my sins and pray that He will send someone to me  everyday so that I might show them the plan of salvation.

Confess all of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Savior.  Live a life that is pleasing to Him, by prayer, reading your Bible, going to a Bible based church, become baptized and telling others that they too can become a child of God.

Christmas has always been hard on me.  I’am usually sick and I don’t do well with crowds.  I’m claustrophobic.  My husband does not understand this concept.  He also in my opinion doesn’t mind spreading his germs around!  I’am also diabetic which increases the chances of me catching a germ and then not being able to get rid of it quickly. So that being said, lets talk about santa claus.  Now here is an idea of a fat man in a suit that was not passed on to me by my parents.  Sure I knew who santa was from my playmates, but it never made sense to me.  Being raised by christian parents I knew the real reason for the idea of Christmas on December 25th each year was to celebrate the birth of Jesus.  ImageJesus was sent to earth as a human by His heavenly Father to die on a cross for our sins.  This is something to believe in and to give gifts for, not a fat man in a red suit.  Teach your children about Jesus, He is the only hope for this world and for you to have eternal life. (John 3:16-21)  “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.  He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed.  But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

So for your new year resolution get to know Jesus Christ and give life to a real purpose.

Peace With God

I write the title to this blog nearly everyday in my volunteer work.  To know Peace with God is undoubtedly the most rewarding feeling a christian can know besides the fact that they will see the Heavenly Father and walk beside Him in Heaven one day.  Only as a result of asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart as your personal Savior can you hope to do this. There are many misconceptions as to how you may assured a place in Heaven. Your church attendance cannot get you into Heaven, reading your Bible cannot get you into Heaven. And your good deeds cannot get you into Heaven.  There is only one way into Heaven.  (Romans 10:9-10)  says “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved..For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.”

To one day know you will join your loved ones and friends who had believed in the plan of salvation, how much does that mean to you?  How much are you willing to give up now to assure yourself that you will sit at the feet of God and not in the fires of satan?  How often are you thinking of what you can do for others and not of yourself?Image  When was the last time you talked about Jesus to someone and not football, your ipad or iphone.  We put so much thought into our’s and our loved ones earthly belongings and almost none into our heavenly future.

The time of our Lord is drawing near, and just as you have plans for your future you need to plan for your salvation and where you will spend eternity.  I am always here should you need a map for that plan.

Yours, in Christ’s love, hearftfulandhopeful

So you ask the Lord into your heart as your personal Savoir all is right with the world and then BAM something goes wrong in your life and you don’t know which way is up. Your hurt, angry and you go to God in prayer and you ask “what did I do Father?”   But did you actually do something to create this havoc that is going on?  For what seemed like a very long time everything was good, no bumps in the road, home free!   Lurking in the background however is satan who has been watching and waiting for just such an opportunity to WHACK you upside your head!  Suddenly you realize that you have become complacent in your worship of the God you gave your heart to and promise to love and obey Him.  Were you not suppose to turn everything over to Him and let Him worry about your cares and heartaches?  Yes you were.  But there you were just going  through your everyday routine, all was good and you forgot more and more to get down on your knees and ask Him for guidance and forgiveness for all that you needed to.

In walks satan, he knows, like God. every little detail of your life.  He is there to destroy God in your head and heart. Only he is sneaky, he will wait for your most vulnerable moment and strike, just like the serpent that he is.   So if you have let your guard down he will walk right in and take you,  So be strong, be vigilant in your faith. ( 1 Peter 5:8 KJV ) ” Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”  Let God control your life.  Don’t try to do it on your own, you are not strong enough to battle satan by yourself.  Use God, he wants you to.  Remember, bad things do happen to good people just be sure you have God with you at all times.  Give Him the love he requires of you.  He will never leave you.

Yes God,  I’m here.  Oh He said, because I gave you an opportunity to witness to someone and you did nothing. When this happens I have a nagging feeling in my heart  that does not let up for days.  Planting seeds and watering them, nurturing them is not an easy job. Planting I have no problem with.  It is the follow-up that has me wondering just how to go about it without seeming pushy.  Pray, pray, pray.  Yes take it to the Lord in prayer.

There are times when you plant a seed with a total stranger and unless they agree to let you call on them you probably will never see them again.  These circumstances I’m sure the Lord will gladly take it from there for you. But let’s say it is a neighbor down the street, and you met them walking your dog and spoke to them about your faith in God and they asked you a few questions about Him.  As your neighbor is about to walk off, don’t you think you should say that you would love to talk to them some more about God and salvation?  Of course you should, but the pounding in your heart keeps you from it.  At the same time you can hear His voice saying go ahead, I will give you the words to speak just as I have these past ten minutes.  But no, you take it out of God’s hands and back into yours and boom the opportunity is gone!

You never know when you will get a chance to witness to that person again, they could be gone tomorrow or their heart may never be as soft as it was that day when you were walking your dog.  This is why you need to listen for and react to God when He is speaking to you.  Do not be afraid to take the next step.  Pray a 2 second prayer if you need to and go for it!  “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind.  Is anything too hard for me?”  Jeremiah 32:27
